Ø When plants come in contact and then leaves rub together.
Ø By the action of animals.
Ø By the action of humans, either accidentally,, or deliberately for experimental purposes.
During rubbing of plants, hair and epidermal cells containing virus may be 'berated into similarly damaged cells on healthy plants, thereby bringing out transmission. This type of transmission results in intensification of disease within closely planted crops. Animals like rabbits, foxes and dogs, ay transfer virus by first rubbing against infected plants and then entering healthy crops. Virus attracted to their body surface enters mainly through minor damage or injury to plants. The method of Mechanical transmission which is commonly used is sap transmission
