Seventy plants of different cotton verities were grafted through petiole grafting to check the resistance of cotton leaf curl virus disease. Out of 70 plants 52 plants are successfully grafted. Reactions ranging from tolerance to highly sucessptible were observed for all varieties. None of grafted plants is immune cotton leaf curl virus symptoms developed early on susceptible varieties (table 4). Symptoms thickening of veins and curling of leaves was served in all infected plants. It was observed that plants showed symptoms thin 10-20 days after grafting in glass house condition. The overall results suggested that mature cotton plants effectively avoid cotton leaf curl infection as compared to plants of 6-8 weeks of age. It was also observed that greatest damage and subsequent losses occur when cotton plants became e::ed at early stage that it is concluded that cotton plants are susceptible CLCuV from 4-14 weeks. 40 plants of different verities of cotton were lifted by petiole grafting technique (PGT). Observation were taken daily starting from one week after grafting and continued up to 60 days according scale. Out of these verities 2 were highly tolerant 2 were moderately tolerant and 3 were susceptible. CIM-599 ,CIM-598 was highly tolerant verities. CIM-595, CIM-573 were moderate tolerant while CIM-557 , 496, CIM-482 were highly susceptible.CIM-573 , CIM-557 were moderate tolerant while CIM-557 , CIM-496, CIM-482 were susceptible, 10 plants of CIM-599 were grafted 8 plants successfully lifted and all of these 8 plants show symptoms within 15 days after grafting. All views involved and severe curling was occur in this variety, and this variety was moderately tolerant 10 plants of CIM-599 were grafted slants was successfully grafted and they show symptoms which involved Scattered vein thickening and all vein involved and severe curling. And these plants were highly tolerant 10 plants of CIM-573were grafted 8 plants successfully grafted and they show symptom which involve small scattered thickening also large group of views involved. And highly tolerant 10 plants of CIM-595 were grafted 9 successfully grafted and show symptoms in 10 days after grafting symptoms involved vein thickening of both small and large group of veins and severe curling and these plants were highly susceptible. 10 plants of CIM-557 were grafted 7 plants successfully grafted and show symptoms in 9 days after grafting. Symptom involved scattered vein thickening and both small and large veins involved ad sever curling and there plants were highly susceptible. Ten plants of cim-446 were grafted 5 successfully grafted ad show symptoms in 14 days. Symptoms involved scattered vein thickening both small and large vein involving, severe
curling these plants were moderately tolerate. 10 plants of CIM-482 were grafted of successfully grafted show symptoms 10 days after grafting. Which involve scattered vein thickening both small id large veins involve and severe curling. seven different varieties were selected each variety kept 10 plants for virus transmission through whitefly as given in table 2 . 10 plants of CIM-599were infested by whitefly and all of these plants showed symptoms within 16 days ad the symptoms were record daily by the same method which is discuses in table 3 and according to this scale symptoms involved all veins id severe curling and this variety was susceptible (table 5). 10 plants of CIM-598 Were infested by whitefly and they showed symptoms within 14 days. Symptoms involved large group of veins and severe curling-10 plants of CIM-595 were infested by whitefly and the plants showed symptoms in 13-lays which involved both small ad large group of veins and these plants were tolerant. 10 plants of CIM-573 were infested by whitefly and they showed symptoms within 12 days which involved vein thickening, both small ad large group of veins and severe curling. 10 plants of CIM-557 were infested by whitefly and these showed symptoms within 11 days these plants were highly susceptible, 10 plants of CIM-482 Were infested by whitefly and showed symptoms within 10 days these plants, were highly susceptible.
